Description
Delta is seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineer for our downtown Chicago office.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed with a background in facilities design for public sector clients including municipal, transit, and DOTs. Some projects will require client interaction in addition to collaboration with other in-house engineering staff.
Delta offers a wide variety of electrical engineering services including facilities design, roadway lighting, fiber optic communications, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Additionally, Delta operates within many industries such as transportation, rail, aviation, and municipal. The ideal candidate shall have familiarity with some of the topics indicated below and demonstrate initiative to learn the others.

Requirements
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Planning, scoping, man-hour estimation, and contract negotiations
- Project schedule, tasks, and milestones
- Monitor project budgets
- Attend client meetings
- Identify, assign and supervise the work of support staff to complete project requirements
- Organize both physical and digital project documentation
- Oversee production of contract drawings in AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or Microstation
- Mentoring and training of junior designers
Design Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical design for facilities: lighting, power distribution, alarms, communications, voltage drop calculations, generator and transformer sizing, substation and ground grid design and analysis.
- Perform roadway lighting and photometric calculations using AGI 32 software
- Perform Intelligent Transportation Systems design including fiber optic cable sizing, CCTV, and vehicle detection device selection
- Experience with SKM Power Tools
- Provide construction phase services including site visits
- Compile milestone deliverables (calculations, drawings, specs, etc) consistent with client standards
- Participate in QA/QC process to maintain the quality of work completed by staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited)
- IL PE license
- Ten (10+) years of experience
- Experience with CADD solutions including Microstation, AutoCad, and Revit
- Solid knowledge of electrical trade practices, standards, and building codes
- Strong communication, teamwork & leadership skills
- Skilled in MS Office Suite
