Position Overview
- Position Status: Insulation Installer
- Reporting To: Operations Manager/Installation Manager, Office staff
- Expected Hours: Approximately 7:30 AM job completion
- Pay/Rate: Negotiable based on experience, capability, and performance
The Insulation Installer is responsible for safely and efficiently air sealing attics, completing cellulose, fiberglass or spray foam insulation across residential and commercial projects, including attics, walls, ceilings, crawl spaces, new construction, and pole barns on time; assisting with blower door testing, combustion safety and ventilation testing when trained. The role contributes directly to customer satisfaction, energy efficiency, job profitability, and the overall quality and reputation of the business.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at work and job sites on time, prepared, and ready to work.
- Install insulation in attics, walls, ceilings, crawl spaces, new construction projects, commercial buildings, and pole barns as directed.
- Follow job specifications, installation requirements, manufacturer instructions, and supervisor directions.
- Prepare work areas appropriately before installation and protect finished surfaces where required.
- Use insulation materials, tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect completed work to ensure insulation is installed consistently and to the required standard.
- Identify and report access issues, damaged areas, moisture concerns, inadequate preparation, or other conditions that may affect the installation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout each project.
- Remove job-related waste and dispose of materials appropriately.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and protective equipment in good working condition.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning tools and equipment promptly to the supervisor.
- Complete required job documentation, time records, photos, checklists, and other paperwork accurately and on time.
- Communicate professionally with customers, builders, contractors, supervisors, and other members of the team.
- Follow all company safety procedures, job-site requirements, and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safe work practices on all job sites ensuring your health and safety.
- Support other members of the installation team and contribute to a positive, productive workplace.
- Filling out time off requests two weeks or more in advance.
- Contacting Operations Manager before 6:30 am when staying home sick.
- Installation Productivity: Maintain approximately 95% productive/chargeable time while completing assigned work efficiently and to the required standard.
- Quality: Maintain a callback/rework rate below 2% of completed jobs.
- Job Documentation: Complete 100% of required time records, job documentation, and installation records accurately within 24 hours of job completion.
The successful Insulation Installer will understand that quality workmanship and productivity directly affect the profitability and reputation of the business.

- Minimizing material waste gaining profitability.
- Protecting customer property and finished surfaces bringing customer satisfaction that leads to referrals.
- Maintaining accurate job and time records.
- Keeping vehicles, tools, and equipment organized and ready for work.
- Maintaining a clean and professional job site.
- Following safe work practices on every project.
- Communicating problems early so they can be resolved before they affect the project.
