Your Impact:
- Plans, reviews, and assigns work of construction field office personnel including Lochner staff, sub-consultants and partners
- Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues
- Read and interpret complex contract plans and specifications
- Read and interpret construction contract language
- Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule
- Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals
- Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve
- Leads construction meetings with clients and contractors
- Manage client expectations and coordinate with stakeholders
- Work with client and contractor to manage construction budget and schedule
- Manage Lochner's budget, schedule and staffing
- Maintain client communications and relationships
- Mentor staff on CEI responsibilities and tasks
- Track opportunities for assigned office and assure pursuit team compliance with client management, pre-positioning, go/no-go, and pursuit strategy best practices and company guidelines
- Coordinate with Marketing Manager and Area Manager to make effective go/no go decisions.
- Maintain key client and teaming partner relationships, playing a key role in developing strategic teaming partnerships and subsequent agreements
- Schedule periodic meetings with key client personnel in coordination with PMs and others (President, SVPO, AM or other staff) as appropriate
- Maintain effective communication with SVPO/AM and Marketing Manager concerning new marketing direction or problems with meeting marketing goals or strategic initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Who you are:
- BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Professional Engineer License (PE) in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana or the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience in transit station construction.
- 10+ years of construction management experience on transit, road and bridge infrastructure projects.
- At least 5 years working as a resident engineer on projects with increasing size and complexity.
- Experience on rail and transit projects (Metra, CTA, NICTD, Amtrak, UP, CN, CSX, Norfolk Southern, etc.)
- Transit station experience is desirable.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- A valid Driver's License is required

Work Environment
