Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Outside Sales Representative to support our growth across Illinois - Chicagoland. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a defined territory, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining relationships with existing customers. You’ll be the go-to expert for our hydraulic and pneumatic product lines, offering solutions that enhance performance, reduce downtime, and improve system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow revenue within the Illinois territory.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with customers in industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and heavy equipment.
Conduct regular in-person visits to customer sites to assess needs, deliver product recommendations, and provide technical guidance.
Travel 3-4 days a week. In office 1-2 days a week at Home Base in Bridgeview, IL.
Identify and pursue new business through cold calls, prospecting, referrals, and industry networking.
Collaborate with inside sales and engineering teams to deliver accurate quotes, custom solutions, and project support.
Maintain detailed records of all sales activities and customer interactions using ERP/CRM tools.
Attend trade shows, training sessions, and vendor meetings to stay current with industry developments and technologies.
Provide timely feedback on market trends, customer needs, and product performance to leadership.
Qualifications:
3+ years of outside B2B sales experience, preferably in industrial distribution, hydraulics, pneumatics, or related sectors.
Solid understanding of fluid power components and systems (cylinders, valves, pumps, compressors, fittings, etc.).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative sales approach.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a multi-county or statewide territory.
Proficiency in ERP/CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical degree or training in mechanical, industrial, or fluid power engineering.
Knowledge of key industry brands (e.g., Parker Hannifin, Fairchild, Firestone, etc)
Experience selling to OEMs, MRO departments, or equipment manufacturers in Illinois.
