ESTIMATOR / PROJECT MANAGER / ELECTRICAL PROJECTS
Uptown Talent Partners is partnering with an Electrical Contractor located in Urbana, IL to hire an Electrical Project Manager who is also a talented Estimator. Your experience managing electrical projects will allow you to be a trusted and consultative partner to senior leadership. This is a full-time, in-person position with regular travel to local area job sites where you'll monitor project progress, perform evaluations, and coordinate with field staff. Relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance and tactical insights across project management, estimating, and broader business operations.
- Prepare electrical project estimates, including material take-offs, labor calculations, and subcontractor/vendor pricing.
- Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts to define scope, risks, and key deliverables.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans. Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, team collaboration, and personal development.
Requirements
- 5 years electrical project management and estimating, to include material takeoffs, labor calculations and vendor/subcontractor pricing.
- Electrical Contracting expertise - systems, codes, construction practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
- EBM, Bluebeam, or similar experience, and skilled in using project management tools and methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
