Description
The Village of Bensenville, IL (population 18,813) seeks a full-time Utilities Division Distribution Technician I/II in the Public Works Department. The job duties of the Distribution Technician include, but are not limited to, performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the underground infrastructure & utilities within the village; and to provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to Village residents and the general public. Assist in the removal of snow and ice from Village streets, sidewalks, parking lots, and other Village facilities.
The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge in Public Works functions of Utilities, Streets, and Forestry. A positive outlook, sense of humor with a "can-do" attitude, and a style that supports learning on the job, teamwork, collaboration, and positive relationships are essential attributes. In keeping with the Village’s commitment to customer service, the Maintenance Technician I/II will think beyond the situation, be flexible within reason, work closely with other Village departments, anticipate problems before they develop, and provide excellent customer service. The position requires strong verbal, written, interpersonal, analytical, and computer skills.
Pay DOQ: Tech I range $59,207 to $80,721, Tech II range $69,601 to $94,181 plus excellent benefits including IMRF pension. Requirements
The job requires outdoor physical activity in various weather conditions with frequent lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds. The position will be interchangeable within all Divisions of the Public Works Department. Valid State of Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) must be maintained throughout employment. Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) Class A with airbrake and tanker endorsements required within six (6) months of hire.
